DISPOSABLE OR SINGLE USE ITEMS

Disposal or ‘single use’ items mean such items are to be used on a single patient during one procedure and then discarded. Single use items include gloves, face masks, paper cups, patient bibs, headrest covers, syringe tips, needles and many others. All single use items should not be used again on another patient. The use of disposal items improves patient safety. Such items eliminate the risk of patient-to-patient contamination as these items are to be disposed after one patient and not used on another.
